Press Release – The Lake Companies Announces New Shop-Trak DoD CMMC and Doc-Trak DoD CMMC Offerings
Designed for Manufacturers Who Must Comply with Department of Defense (DoD) Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) to Ensure NIST 800-171 Security Standards are being Implemented Throughout the DoD Supply Chain
With the latest developments to Shop-Trak & Doc-Trak DoD CMMC, The Lake Companies focuses on the most critical Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Those are the documents provided by, on behalf of, and in support of government contracts; documents are not all CUI needs to protect but are the most obvious on any manufacturer’s systems. We believe having those documents on the internal systems of manufacturers creates an incredible risk on their future DoD contracts, and if their systems were penetrated, on the future of their business outside of DoD as well.
“Manufacturers who directly or indirectly provide systems, components, and/or assemblies to the DoD are directly in the crosshairs of the world’s most sophisticated hackers. We’ve built a solution that allows our customers the ability to sleep well at night, knowing that hacks on their internal systems will not yield any CUI documents. At the same time, it will manage, monitor, audit the flow and endpoints of CUI documents, while proactively shutting down access to bad actors,” said Greg Lake, President of The Lake Companies.
The Lake Companies solution is seamless — move the documents off of the internal systems and put them into DoD Certified Cloud document storage, then use Doc-Trak to manage them. The answer for the cloud storage was Amazon’s S3 (Simple Storage Solution), but not their generally available solution. Rather their GovCloud S3 solution. Amazon S3 GovCloud (US) is designed to meet the most stringent regulatory and compliance requirements encountered by U.S. Government agencies and contractors. With Amazon S3 GovCloud, each manufacturer has their own storage solution for CUI documents, that is compliant with the requirements of CMMC. This “cloud-based point solution” would allow you to keep your SyteLine ERP software and all other non-DoD documentation on your internal systems and only move the CUI documents to the S3 GovCloud.
Doc-Trak DoD CMMC was built on a structure using the CUI with SyteLine, while putting necessary controls in place to protect CUI documents.
Shop-Trak DoD CMMC controls what employees can see and do by managing their access to, and the endpoints of CUI.
The combination of Doc-Trak and Shop-Trak addresses 48 different requirements of CMMC and NIST 800-171. Documents now will have better and tighter security than when put on your internal systems—making the information nearly impenetrable from anyone outside your company. With the DoD CMMC lineup, you can determine which employees can have controlled access to the S3 GovCloud and which will never get access. In Shop-Trak, you decide which employees are ‘DoD Employees’. Employees flagged as DoD Employees are automatically set to use the Doc-Trak Viewer.
“CMMC compliance has not been an easy journey for manufacturers, so we have made it easy for our customers. Thus, meeting our goal to deliver powerful capabilities that are simple to deploy in the shortest amount of time with minimal impact on anyone using our software applications,” said Greg Lake, President of The Lake Companies.
